The warehouse is cold — where do I start?
With diagnosis: measure the temperature at 1.5 m and under the roof. A difference above 5 °C means the heat you already have is going into the roof space — bring it back down first (destratification), and only then consider adding capacity. If there is no system at all, start with a heat loss calculation.
How many kW does a warehouse need?
As a guide: 11–18 W per m³ of volume for an insulated sandwich-panel building at the design winter temperature. A 3,000 m² × 10 m warehouse comes to 450–550 kW. The full method with tables is in the calculation article.
Which is cheaper: gas, electricity or refrigerant?
By the cost of a kWh of heat at typical European business tariffs: a gas unit ≈ €0.10, a heat pump on a DX scheme ≈ €0.07, direct electric heating ≈ €0.20. Where there is no gas, DX OXA-530N/670N units on VRF or a condensing unit give heating in winter and cooling in summer from one set of equipment. Can a warehouse be heated without a boiler house or ductwork?
Yes — that is the base case for a decentralised scheme: ceiling-mounted OXA units work without a metre of ductwork, and the energy source can be gas (the integral burner in the OXA-GD), electricity (OXA-ED) or VRF / a condensing unit. Installation takes 2–4 weeks.
What does turnkey warehouse heating cost?
It depends on floor area, height and energy source. As an order of magnitude for a 2,000–3,000 m² warehouse: equipment plus installation starts in the low tens of thousands of euros. An engineer will prepare an exact priced specification free of charge within one working day of your completing the selection form.
How noisy are ceiling-mounted units?
Up to 60 dB at the measurement distance — the level of an ordinary conversation. In warehouses, production halls and sports centres that is quiet enough for the equipment not to stand out against the background.
Who installs and services the equipment?
Certified Aklima Polska teams: rigging, suspension, pipework, controls, commissioning and the handover report — with a 3-year warranty on the installation. Servicing is one or two visits a season.
The units run without water — can they freeze up?
The gas, electric and DX series have no water circuit at all, so freezing is impossible. The water-fed D and K series are protected during shutdown periods with a glycol solution or by draining down.
